- Strength in Unity: Building a Defense Ecosystem in Kansas and Missouri
NSC stakeholders came together for a first-of-its-kind event featuring leaders from private industry, public administration, academic institutions, and military installations. The workshop provided awareness and education on defense-related topics and opportunities for increased investments.
More than 120 attendees listened to a series of panels and presentations discussing the two states’ common defense ecosystem and the mutually supporting linkages between defense-related academia, private defense contractors, military bases, federal agencies, and local government entities.

The National Security Crossroads is a multi-state initiative aimed at raising awareness of and facilitating collaboration and efficiencies within national security missions in the Heartland region. The mission of the Crossroads is to brand the Kansas | Missouri region as a National Security strength and home for national security missions, educate the region on the value of the Crossroads, and share best practices to enable members of the Crossroads to be agile and resilient.
